Public library to host Noon Years Eve party for kids

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library will be hosting a Noon Years’ Eve party on Friday, for kids who may not be able to stay awake late enough to watch the ball drop on New Years’ Eve.

This event is for children ages 10 and under complete with a balloon drop at noon, noisemakers and celebratory activities. Appearing on WHOP recently, Executive Director DeAnna Sova says they wanted to create a celebration experience for young kids while still letting them make it to bed on time, and it should shape up to be a pretty fun event.

The event is free to attend and will be held Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the public library.

In other news, Sova says those who use to Overdrive app to read e-books will have to move over to the Libby app instead, as Overdrive will be shutting down at the turn of the year.

If you have a library card, you access the Libby app on your mobile device—and library cards are free through the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.
