Proceedings continued for South Elm Street shooting suspect

One of the suspects charged in relation to a shooting incident on South Elm Street will get to continue on his ankle monitor for at least another month, following a hearing in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning.

Toddarius Polk is facing charges of attempted first-degree assault and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, after shots were allegedly towards a vehicle near West First Street and South Elm Street in July.  The victim was able to drive away uninjured to call police. Two of the rounds struck the vehicle, with one shattering a window and the other hitting the rear of the car.

Polk has been released on ankle monitor as lawyers work to resolve the case, with Davis MacGregor of Christian County Alternative Services informing the court that Polk has recently gotten a job and will be able to start paying for the ankle monitor himself—he just needs time to build up funds.

Judge John Atkins continued Polk on grant paid ankle monitoring until February 1—a pretrial hearing concerning the case is set for January 18.

Polk’s co-defendant, Michael Croney, has already entered a guilty plea to attempted first-degree assault and two counts of wanton endangerment as part of a deal that came with a recommended 3-year sentence.
