(Undated)  — Memphis fell to 5th-ranked Alabama 91-88 in the Holiday Hoopsgiving Tournament.  Kendric Davis exploded for a game high 30 points in the loss.  The Tigers are now 8-and-3.  Louisville is still winless on the season.  The Cardinals lost to Florida State and dropped to 0-and-9 on the season.  The Cards host Western Kentucky tonight.  Tennessee improved to 9-and-1 after beating 13th-ranked Maryland.  The 7th-ranked Vols are on the road playing Number-9 Arizona on Saturday.  Vanderbilt fell to 5-and-5 following a loss to Grambling.  The Commodores will play NC State on the road Saturday night.  Kentucky is 7-and-2 after beating Yale.  The 13th-ranked Wildcats host Number-14 UCLA Saturday night.

Cardinals Welcome In-State Foe Western Kentucky on Wednesday

Louisville men’s basketball returns to non-conference play against in-state foe Western Kentucky at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday at the KFC Yum! Center. The game will air on ESPN2. The Cardinals dropped to 0-2 in ACC action Saturday with a 75-53 loss at Florida State. Western Kentucky improved to 8-1 – its best start since 2006-07 – with a 64-60 victory over Wright State on Saturday behind Dayvion McKnight’s 32 points. Louisville is 42-40 all-time against the Hilltoppers, including 28-18 at home. The Cardinals had won nine straight in the series until Western Kentucky’s 82-72 win last year in Bowling Green.

RV/#25 Cardinals Return to Freedom Hall to Take on Bellarmine

The Louisville women’s basketball team is returning to a familiar venue for the first time in over 10 years for their next game on Wednesday. The Cardinals are heading back to Freedom Hall to take on Bellarmine on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. ET. This will be Louisville’s first trip back to Freedom Hall since March 17, 2010, when they played their final home game at the venue against Bradley. The Cardinals began playing at Freedom Hall in their second varsity season in 1976-77. When head coach Jeff Walz took over in 2007-08, the Cardinals were playing their home games at Freedom Hall. In the three seasons under Walz, the Cards were 31-10 in games played at Freedom Hall.

Racers Produce Amazing Comeback Win Over Chicago State

The Murray State Racers overcame a 15-point halftime deficit Tuesday to nip the Chicago State Cougars 66-65 at the wire at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The win for the Racers (6-4) extends their home winning streak to 19, while also setting the 25-year arena record of the largest halftime deficit overcome to win. JaCobi Wood scored 20 of his 24 points in a frantic second half that saw the Racers outscore the Cougars 39-23. DJ Burns provided 18 points on 11 offensive rebounds (14 for the game).

Dominant First Not Enough for Racers Against Peay

After leading by 20 points in the first quarter, the Murray State women’s basketball team was unable to stop a furious Austin Peay rally and fell, 71-67, Thursday night at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. Katelyn Young scored a career high 32-points in the contest, going 9-for-17 from the floor and 13 for 15 at the free throw line. She also added seven rebounds and three assists to her stat line for the night.

Monumental Comeback Leads Govs to Thrilling Win Over Racers

Trailing by as many as 20 points in the first quarter, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team launched a monumental comeback to defeat rival Murray State 71-67, Tuesday, at the CFSB Center. Thirty-two fourth-quarter points and a season-high 46 points in the paint helped lead Austin Peay (4-5) to its sixth win against the Racers (5-2) since 2020.
