Both sides are ready for trial in the murder case against Larayna Manning, with trial set to begin in January.
Manning appeared in the courtroom of Christian Circuit Judge Andrew Self Wednesday afternoon, alongside defense attorney Jason Pfeil who informed the court that their experts are wrapping up their analysis of evidence and they will be ready for trial to start on January 9.
Judge Self expects trial to last approximately a week against Manning—who is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery.
Judge Self says, barring any unexpected resolution in the case in the meantime, they will go forward with trial in January.
As previously reported, drugs, cash and a safe were missing from Calvin “Cue” Taylor’s home when police began the investigation in 2020 on North Kentucky Avenue and police say Taylor’s mouth and wrists were duct-taped, indicating there had been a robbery. Taylor was declared deceased at the scene due to gunshot wounds.
Manning’s son and co-defendant, Anthony Manning, has already entered an Alford plea to charges of facilitation to complicity to commit murder and first-degree facilitation to complicity to commit robbery, for his role in the incident.
