Top-seeded Louisville Heads to Elite Eight with Sweep of Baylor

The No. 1 seeded Louisville women’s volleyball team advanced to the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament after sweeping No. 4 seeded Baylor 25-23, 25-16, 25-17, Thursday afternoon at the KFC Yum! Center. The win marks the Cards’ sixth consecutive sweep as they move to 29-2 on the season, while the Bears finish the year with a 25-7 overall record. As a team, the Cardinals finished with 44 total kills, 10 blocks, six aces, and hitting .269 in the match, while the Bears totaled 29 kills, 28 assists, 29 digs, and hitting .098.

(2) San Diego Ends Kentucky Volleyball’s Season in Palo Alto

The Kentucky Volleyball team’s season ended Thursday night with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-18) loss to (2) San Diego inside Maples Pavilion in Palo, Alto, California in the regional round of the 2022 NCAA Volleyball Tournament. UK’s offense was held to just .127 hitting on the night, as the Toreros hit .327 on the night with only 15 hitting errors in the match. Kentucky’s season concludes with a 22-8 overall record, winning its sixth-straight Southeastern Conference championship thanks to a 15-3 SEC record. The Wildcats made the NCAA Tournament for the 18th-straight season under the direction of Head Coach Craig Skinner, and won 20+ games for the 12th-straight year.
