While it appears there’s an uptick in COVID cases in Kentucky following Thanksgiving gatherings, the spike isn’t nearly as high as it was following holidays the last two years.
The latest COVID community spread map shows that Christian, Todd, Trigg and surroundings counties have stayed ‘green’, while counties to the west remain ‘red’ and more counties to the east have started sliding back into the ‘yellow’.
Governor Andy Beshear says it seems as though Kentucky is generally in a plateau of COVID cases and hospitalization and ICU numbers remain relatively low.
Meanwhile, flu remains widespread, but RSV—which most severely affects babies and seniors—seems to have peaked.
The governor encourages Kentuckians to get vaccinated or boosted for COVID and to get a flu shot if they haven’t already done so.
