Rain is the name of the game this week for the entire region, especially for western Kentucky, as much-needed rain is set to fall.
During the weekly weather call with the National Weather Service in Paducah, Hydrologist Mary Lamm says this will be very beneficial rain, since the area has been under some level of drought since September, and most places could see up to three inches or rain.
She says rain will be possible each day and there could be some storms Wednesday night into Thursday, which could produce heavier amounts of rain, and they’re keeping an eye out for any severe possibilities.
Lamm says now is the time to prepare for rainfall, such as clearing drains or gutters that haven’t had to be cleared in some time, to help avoid any standing water.
The rain chances continue into next week, with some drying possible over the weekend.
