Unemployment was up from September to October in all nine Pennyrile counties.
Christian County’s jobless rate was 4.9 percent, up from 4.5 in September and down from 5.5 percent one year ago. It represented 1,220 people who were looking for work and unable to find it.
Todd County maintains the lowest unemployment rate in Western Kentucky at 3.5 percent, up from 2.9 percent in September and a tenth of a point higher than October of last year.
The jobless rate in Trigg County came in at 4.5 percent, the same as a year ago and up six tenths from the prior month.
Muhlenberg County has the region’s highest jobless rate at 6.3 percent.
The state number in October was 3.9 percent and the national average was 3.4 percent.
