>>Wainwright Joins Team USA for WBC

(St. Louis, MO)  — Adam Wainwright will begin is final season of baseball as a pitcher on Team USA in the World Baseball Classic.  The MLB announced yesterday that Wainwright will join Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado and first baseman Paul Goldschmidt on the squad.  The 41-year-old pitcher went 11-and-12 with a 3-point-71 ERA in 32 stars with St. Louis in 2022, and 2023 will be his last season in the league.

>>Braves Lose Coach to White Sox

(Undated)  — Braves’ former assistant hitting coach Jose Castro has joined the Chicago White Sox staff.  Castro has spent the last eight seasons with Atlanta under hitting coach Kevin Seitzer and alongside fellow assistant Bobby Magallanes.  In other news, the Braves decided to bring back a pair of free agent right-handed pitchers on new deals.  Brooks Wilson and Alan Rangel have re-signed with the organization and will most likely begin the new season with Triple-A Gwinnett.
