Ground broken for future spec building in Trigg County

Ground was broken Wednesday morning on International Drive in Trigg County, as they prepare for construction of a new speculative building there.

The 100,000 square foot facility that will one day call that industrial park home is designed to be move-in ready for potential industries, similar to the one built in Christian County that recently became home to Elevate Windows and Doors, LLC. Emily Jones with the Tennessee Valley Authority says this investment shows that Trigg County is committed to a successful future.

Trigg County Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander he’s intent to leave the county better than he found it, and he thinks this spec building is just one more way of making that happen.

Cadiz Mayor Todd King says the city is looking forward to economic development and growth the building will bring to the area.

South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council Executive Director Carter Hendricks says they already have had industries interested in the area and the future building, and construction hasn’t even begun yet—so he knows they be able to find a resident for it quickly.

During the ceremony, Hendricks presented Alexander with a gift of appreciation for his years of service and dedication to Trigg County, as he is set to step down from that position, which will be taken up by former Senator Stan Humphries.
