Cardinals Host No. 22 Maryland in ACC/Big Ten Challenge
Louisville men’s basketball returns to the KFC Yum! Center to host No. 23/25 Maryland at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge presented by Continental Tire. The game will air on ESPN2. The Cardinals are still looking for their first win of the season after dropping three games in last week’s Maui Invitational, most recently falling 81-62 to Cincinnati on Wednesday. Maryland improved to 6-0 on Friday with a 95-79 victory over Coppin State. Louisville is 6-2 against Maryland all-time, including 2-0 at home. The teams met last season in the Baha Mar Hoops Championship title game, which UofL won 63-55 to take the crown.
Big Blue Preview: Kentucky vs. Bellarmine
Kentucky associate to the head coach Bruiser Flint realizes that the 2022-23 men’s basketball season has essentially just started. So despite the fact that the Cats have lost twice in their first six games, Flint knows there’s still a long way to go in the season. The 19th-ranked Cats will continue to iron out some of those things this week, and especially on Tuesday night when Bellarmine comes to Rupp Arena to face the Cats (7 p.m. ET, SEC Network Plus), you can listen beginning at 4:30 pre-game on 98.7 Lite FM. One thing that has helped, according to Flint, is actually having a full roster during practices. Bellarmine certainly will not be phased by facing a nationally-ranked Kentucky team. The Knights are 2-5 on the season but have already faced road games at Duke and UCLA. One of Bellarmine’s victories came over crosstown rival Louisville, 67-66, on Nov. 9. The Cats will be focused on improving themselves on Tuesday night, a task that should be easier now that UK has everyone back in the fold.
