A high speed pursuit Sunday night ended with the arrest of a Hopkinsville man on multiple charges.
A Christian County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop 29-year old Andrew Scott of Hopkinsville on West Seventh Street for not having a license plate, but he allegedly kept driving and reached speeds of 95 mph near Edgewood Baptist Church on Cadiz Road.
He eventually turned onto Old Major Lane, Major Lane and then Pyle Lane and began having engine trouble before turning onto LC Avenue and then abandoning his slowly-rolling SUV on foot on Pat Avenue.
A K9 was used to locate Scott behind a playhouse area in the 700 block of Pat and his SUV came to a stop after rolling into a boat trailer, according to the arrest citation.
Scott was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without registration, in addition to several other counts.
Police say a search of the SUV turned up a large amount of meth, syringes and a set of scales.
