WHOP General Manager Jeff Sisk was celebrated on Friday morning’s Early Bird Show for 40 years of service to the station and the community.
Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch presented Jeff with a proclamation on behalf of the city and state Representative Walker Thomas honored Sisk with a Kentucky colonel designation certificate.
Former WHOP General Manager Mike Chadwell was among those in the studio, praising Sisk for his willingness to learn every job in the building and to do whatever it takes.
Circuit Judge Andrew Self talked about Sisk as the epitome of a local broadcaster invested in the community.
Jeff thanked the staff, past and present, in addition to the listeners and advertisers for keeping WHOP a staple in the community for almost 83 years.
Several current and former local high school football and basketball coaches also chimed in during the celebration, thanking Sisk for his commitment as the longtime voice of Hopkinsville Tiger football and basketball and University Heights Academy basketball.
