(Lexington, KY) — Kentucky cruised to an easy victory in college basketball action. The Number-4 Wildcats dispatched Duquesne 77-52 to earn their second win of the season over the weekend. Elsewhere, the 11th-ranked Volunteers were upset by Colorado 78-66 and dropped to 1-and-1. Louisville continues to struggle after losing at the buzzer to Wright State 73-72. The Cardinals are now 0-and-2. Vanderbilt also dropped to 0-and-2 after losing to Southern Miss. Memphis visits Saint Louis tomorrow.
Wright State Hands Louisville Home Loss on Buzzer-Beater
The University of Louisville men’s basketball team led by as much as 10 in the second half Saturday against Wright State, but the Raiders rallied and got a game-winning jump shot at the buzzer from Trey Calvin to hand the Cardinals a 73-72 loss at the KFC Yum! Center.
Record-Breaking 3-Point Shooting Night Aids Tops to 127-61 Victory
WKU Hilltopper Basketball broke the record for 3-point field goals in a single game for both men’s basketball in E.A. Diddle Arena and the overall program on Saturday night when the Hilltoppers knocked down 19 3’s in a 127-61 victory over Kentucky State. Nine different Hilltoppers nailed at least one 3-pointer throughout the evening, tying the NCAA record for number of different players to score a 3-point field goal on one team. WKU is just the fourth team ever to accomplish the feat in NCAA Men’s Basketball history. The previous teams were Dartmouth (1993), Florida (2006 and 2018) and Michigan (2008).
Racers Open 25th Season At CFSB Center
The Murray State Racers cruised to a 90-53 victory in their home opener over the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders as the 25th season of college hoops started at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The win pushed the Racers to eight-straight home opening wins and improved their overall home win streak to 17 in a row dating back to 2021.

Walker, Benton Lead Cats Past Chanticleers
Jada Walker tied her career high with 21 points and dished out a career-best 10 assists as the Kentucky women’s basketball team thumped Coastal Carolina 79-53 on Sunday at Memorial Coliseum. Kentucky (3-0) got 19 points and five rebounds from Robyn Benton, as well as 10 points and five rebounds from Blair Green. The UK defense was stifling all day long, forcing Coastal Carolina into 32 turnovers, which the Cats turned into 27 points. The Cats held the Chanticleers to 17 of 54 (31.5 percent) from the floor, which included just three of 10 (30.0 percent) from behind the arc.

The No. 7/5 Louisville women’s basketball team faced its first road test of the season and edged out RV/NR Belmont 75-70 at the Curb Event Center Sunday afternoon. In a game that saw 17 ties and 20 lead changes, the Cardinals trailed by one with 2:17 remaining in the fourth but used an 8-2 run to close out the game and clinch the win.
