Two injured, including officer, in downtown accident

Two people, including a Hopkinsville police officer, were injured in an accident Wednesday morning at East Seventh and South Main and East Seventh Street.

The officer was traveling south on South Main Street and an SUV was headed west on East Seventh Street when they collided in the intersection, according to Hopkinsville Police Captain Rico Rodriguez.

The officer was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for a head injury and the driver of the SUV was transported with chest pain, with Captain Todd DeArmond saying all of the injuries were non-life-threatening.

Names of those involved have not been released.
