Bond motion denied for Kings Court Motel murder suspect

A motion for bond reduction was denied Wednesday morning for the man accused of the 2018 murder of Tamara Dragoo at the King’s Court Motel on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Defense attorney Michael Thompson has asked that bond be reduced from $1 million to $1,000 for 33-year old Terrence Stepp of Hopkinsville, saying a large amount of evidence has come in since the last hearing and Stepp has been incarcerated for a long period of time.

He argues some of the text messages in the evidence could potentially exonerate Stepp, though Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling disagrees.

After hearing the arguments, Judge John Atkins declined to reduce bond, but again urged the parties to attempt mediation toward a potential resolution.

The judge also scheduled trial for April 24.
