26-13 is certainly a record any team would be proud to have at the end of the year. 8-0 in their district, 15-4 in the region, and a region semifinal appearance. A great year.
University Heights though wants more. Head Coach Faye Hendricks wants more, and believes this team can do it.
The Lady Blazers will lose two seniors from this years squad, after next year they lose seven.
That means next year is the year for all their goals as a program. Win the region for the first time ever, make it to state for the first time ever, and most importantly win state for the first time ever. If you think that last piece is far fetched, well than you have not been reading up on, listening to talks about, or watching this team and program.
Coach Hendricks believes anything is possible and the sky is the limit with the talent and ability of these young ladies.
So much so that she was kind enough to sit down with me for upwards of twenty minutes to discuss this years accomplishments; but more over, next years and many of her players potential.
