Three facing drug charges after East 18th St. investigation

An investigation at a location on East 18th Street late Wednesday night led to drug charges against three suspects.

Hopkinsville police officers were told there were individuals there who were sought on warrants and citations say a search warrant was obtained when the occupants of the home refused to come to the door.

The search allegedly revealed marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a gun.

Officers charged 54-year old Michael Braswell and 41-year old Jeffrey Walton of Hopkinsville with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia with Braswell also charged with possession of marijuana and hindering the apprehension of a fugitive.

Police say they found 42-year old Angela Garcia of Hopkinsville hiding in a closet and she said she had swallowed 28 grams of meth. She was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where she was admitted.

She’s facing charges of trafficking in meth, tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also served with warrants for probation violation.

Walton was served with warrants for parole violation and contempt of court.
