Cochran Named to 2023 Katrina McClain Award Watch List
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced today that University of Louisville women’s basketball junior forward Olivia Cochran is one of 20 watch list candidates for the 2023 Katrina McClain Award. Louisville is one of three teams to have a player named to each of the four positional watch lists so far this season. Chrislyn Carr was named to the Lieberman Award Watch List, Hailey Van Lith was named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List and Morgan Jones was named to the Cheryl Miller Award Watch List.
Three Hilltoppers Tabbed to Preseason All-Conference Team
DALLAS – WKU Hilltopper Basketball had three Hilltoppers picked for the Conference USA Preseason All-Conference team: sixth year senior Emmanuel Akot, senior Jamarion Sharp and junior Dayvion McKnight. WKU was the only team of the 11 squads in the league to have three players as preseason picks, the maximum number any program could attain on the 10-man team. As a team, the Hilltoppers were picked second in the preseason poll with one first-place vote.
DiLiello, Thomas, and Williams named to Stats Perform Midseason Watch Lists
CHICAGO – A trio of Austin Peay State University football players were named to the 2022 Stats Perform FCS Midseason Watch Lists for the Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, and Buck Buchanan Awards, Wednesday. Redshirt freshman wide receiver and kick returner Kam Thomas was one of 25 players named to the 2022 Stats Perform FCS Jerry Rice Award Watch List. The award is presented to the national freshman of the year in college football’s Division I subdivision. Quarterback Mike DiLiello was one of 20 players added to the 2022 Walter Payton Award Watch List. Stats Perform presents the award to the FCS national offensive player of the year. Linebacker Antoine Williams was one of 21 players added to the 2022 Buck Buchanan Award Watch list. Stats Perform presents the award to the FCS national defensive player of the year.
Kentucky Softball Hosts the Big Blue Boo 2 on Oct. 29
The Kentucky Softball team will be hosting The Big Blue Boo 2 on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. ET with free admission at John Cropp Stadium. Kentucky will play in-state rivals Louisville for this year’s edition. The 2022 edition will include a Halloween costume contest, limitless amounts of candy, games, BINGO, prizes, tent-or-treat, face painting and more. Fans are encouraged to come early to participate in the activities before the game starts. After the game is over, the entire UK Softball team will sign autographs. Doors to John Cropp Stadium will open at 4:30 p.m. ET with the game beginning at 6 p.m. ET as the fall season comes to a close for the UK Softball team. For fans who can’t attend the game, it will be broadcasted live on SEC Network+ and the ESPN app.
Stoops on Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year Award Watch List and Dodd Trophy Midseason Watch List
For the second straight season, Kentucky head football coach Mark Stoops is on the watch list for the American Heart Association’s 2022 Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year Award. He is one of 25 coaches up for the award. Kentucky head football coach Mark Stoops is one of 20 of the nation’s top college football coaches named to the 2022 Dodd Trophy Midseason Watch List it was announced Wednesday by the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and Peach Bowl, Inc.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The University of Louisville women’s soccer team (6-6-2, 3-5-0) bounced back with a 1-0 win on the road against NC State (7-6-4, 2-5-1) Thursday night at Dail Soccer Complex. Corrine Dente scored the game’s lone goal in the first half and it was the difference as the Cardinal defense allowed just two shots on goal the entire night. With the win, head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes collected her 200th career win at the helm of the Cardinals.
WKU Soccer Suffers Road Loss Behind Late Goal
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Soccer (6-7-3, 3-4-1 C-USA) and Rice (10-7-0, 8-0-0 C-USA) were dead even for 89 minutes on Thursday night in Houston, but a goal from the Owls with four seconds left in the match gave Rice a 1-0 win against the Lady Toppers.
Racers Fall to Northern Iowa Despite Having More Shots on Goal
Murray State women’s soccer fell 3-0 to Northern Iowa despite having more shots on goal in the match. Saraya Young looked like the biggest attacking threat for the Racers with three shots on target on the day as MSU drew seven saves from the Panthers.

Fourth-ranked Tennessee hosts 4-and-2 Tennessee-Martin in Knoxville and Memphis is in New Orleans playing Number-25 Tulane. Three-and-3 Louisville hosts 4-and-2 Pitt while 3-and-4 Vanderbilt hits the road to play 2-and-4 Missouri. Nineteenth-ranked Kentucky will play Tennessee next weekend in Knoxville.
