Positivity rate ticks back up, Ky. gains 3,240 COVID cases

The COVID-19 positivity rate in Kentucky has ticked back up slightly, as the state reported 3,240 cases since last week.

There were also 80 newly reported deaths, bringing the death toll in the Commonwealth since the pandemic began up to 17,191. The positivity rate increased back up to 8.50 percent, up from 7.91 percent the week prior.

There are currently 253 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19, 28 in the ICU and 15 on a ventilator.

On the community spread map, the majority of the state is in the ‘green’, including Christian, Todd, Trigg and all of western Kentucky.  Out of 120 counties, only one is listed as ‘red’ and 15 are in the ‘yellow’.
