Just their third true road trip this season, the Colonels mounted up and road for South Warren.
It ended with them still looking for their first district win.
A 52-14 final, South Warren did what was expected of them and handled the team that, again, had not been in a road environment since September 9th.
Christian County did come into the game off a bye and with two weeks, give or take, to prepare.
However, Head Coach Blake Ladson certainly wanted to be clear, his team had taken days off last week during the bye week and this week had been a challenge navigating a game week during fall break.
Those are the realities of being a high school football coach, and Ladson knows that accepting whatever result his team gave.
Once again the Colonels just failed to really get anything going offensively managing just 197 yards passing, rushing was negative yardage total, and 14 points, obviously.
Certain guys, as they have all year, showed real talent and promise. Prince Northington II and Elijah Underhill both had fifty plus yard touchdown catches and some moves Ladson and his staff made, like bringing in max protect for Jordan Miles, were clearly good ones; They were just unable to bring it all together consistently for forty-eight minutes.
Next week it is back at home for Christian County, looking for their first district win in five seasons still, and maybe a tougher opponent.
Bowling Green, the Purples, roll into town after just handling Greenwood 35-7.
As we have said all year, the Colonels have the talent to not only be in the game, but win it. Will they though? Tune in next week same time, same station, and find out!
