Damge Named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Ben Damge was named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season, the conference announced on Tuesday. Damge became the first Wildcat to score a hat trick in nine years, as well as the first to score three goals in a game since Tyler Riggs scored three against Florida Atlantic on Nov. 3, 2013. Damge became the 10th Wildcat in school history to record a hat trick. Chris Soler has the school record having scored four vs. Georgetown on Oct. 17, 2001.

Young and Etter Take Missouri Valley Conference Weekly Honors

Murray State women’s soccer players Saraya Young and Sydney Etter were named Missouri Valley Conference players of the week by the league on Monday afternoon. Young earned Offensive Player of the Week while Etter earned Freshman of the Week following their performances in the Racers wins over Missouri State and Illinois State.

Young Named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week

Murray State women’s soccer player Saraya Young continues to earn honors following her impressive week after being named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week. Young put together two goals and four assists in the Racers two wins over Missouri State and Illinois State.

Reagan Rutherford and Emma Grome Win SEC Weekly Awards

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Volleyball players Reagan Rutherford and Emma Grome both took home honors from the Southeastern Conference on Monday afternoon with Rutherford winning SEC Player of the Week and SEC Offensive Player of the week and Grome winning SEC Setter of the Week. For Rutherford it is the second time this year she has won SEC Player of the Week and SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Grome was crowned the SEC Setter of the Week for the third time this season Monday.

Eli Cox, Octavious Oxendine on Comeback Player of the Year Watch List

Junior center Eli Cox and junior defensive lineman Octavious Oxendine have been named to the watch list for the 2022 Comeback Player of the Year Award, it was announced today by the College Sports Communicators in association with The Associated Press (AP) and the Fiesta Bowl Organization.

Simon Makes Comeback Player of the Year Award Watch List

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU tight end Joshua Simon has been named to the Comeback Player of the Year Award watch list, as announced by College Sports Communicators in associate with The Associated Press and the Fiesta Bowl Organization. The award recognizes college football student-athletes from all divisions of college football for overcoming injury, illness, or other circumstances.

Reed Added to Maxwell Award Watch List

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU quarterback Austin Reed has been added to the Maxwell Award watch list, the Maxwell Football Club announced Wednesday. The Maxwell Award has been presented annually to the most outstanding player in college football since 1937 and is named in honor of Robert “Tiny” Maxwell who was a former standout at Swarthmore College and a renowned sports writer and football official.

Johnson, Wayne earn ASUN preseason merit

ATLANTA – Graduate students Yamia Johnson and Ajah Wayne of the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team were named to the ASUN Women’s Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team, while the Governors were picked fifth in the preseason ASUN media poll and ninth in the coaches poll. The ASUN honors are the first for the Governors’ women’s basketball team ahead of its inaugural season in the conference and are the second and third time Johnson and Wayne have been selected to a preseason all-conference team in their respective careers.
