The Christian County Sheriff’s Department is teaming up again with local pet rescues to host the second annual “Paws and Claws” pet adoption event in November.
According to a news release, the event will take place November 5 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the sheriff’s office located at 701 West Seventh Street and is designed to help get as many pets in forever homes as possible. Last years event saw 15 animals find homes, and officials are looking to break that record this year.
Animals from the Christian County Animal Shelter, the Christian County Humane Society, Max’s Hope Pet Rescue, Haven 12:10 Animal Sanctuary, Moving Mountains for Mastiffs and Magnolia Homestead Rescue. All agencies will have adoption stations set up in the front parking lot, and food trucks will be on hand for folks to enjoy.
There will be door prizes, with every visitor receiving one free ticket, with extra tickets available for a dollar a piece. All money raised will go back into the adoption agencies to help with veterinarian bills and rescue costs.
