UofL to Hold Louisville Men’s Basketball Tipoff on Oct. 28

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men’s basketball program will usher in a new season with the 2022 Louisville Basketball Tipoff presented by Clark & Riggs Printing and Stockton Mortgage on Oct. 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the Galt House Hotel Grand Ballroom. Replacing the traditional Tipoff Luncheon, UofL is introducing a brand-new evening format that will accommodate an even larger group of season ticket members and fans. In addition to remarks from Director of Athletics Josh Heird and first-year head coach Kenny Payne, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and greet Payne’s coaches and staff over hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages. Full 2022-23 UK Men’s Basketball Schedule Set

LEXINGTON, Ky. –  18-game Southeastern Conference schedule announced last month, the Wildcats will play 13 nonconference contests, along with a pair of exhibitions. Every UK game will be on national television or via streaming through ESPN’s family of networks, CBS or SEC Network. Kentucky’s exhibition games, Big Blue Madness, Blue-White Game and the SEC Tournament will also be available for viewing. Between the 13-game nonconference slate and the SEC schedule, Kentucky will take on 11 NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago. Some notes on the Wildcats’ 2022-23 opponents: Kentucky’s nonconference schedule features home games with Louisville and reigning national champion Kansas in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge to go along with an away contest at Gonzaga in Spokane. In addition, the Wildcats face neutral-site matchups with Michigan State in the State Farm Champions Classic in Indianapolis, Michigan in London and against UCLA in the CBS Sports Classic in New York.. In conference play, Kentucky faces Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Vanderbilt both home and away. The Wildcats host Auburn, LSU, South Carolina and Texas A&M and travel to Alabama, Mississippi State, Missouri and Ole Miss.

Hilltoppers Release 2023 Conference USA Schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Hilltoppers have released their Conference USA schedule. WKU will play familiar competition in 2023 with one new face in Dallas Baptist, who competed in last year’s NCAA Tournament. WKU will begin on the road at Middle Tennessee (Mar. 17-19) for a three-game series. The Hilltoppers’ first home series will take place the following weekend, against Louisiana Tech (Mar. 24-26), who won the 2022 Conference USA Tournament. They will travel to San Antonio and take on UTSA the next weekend (Mar. 31-Apr. 2) before a rematch with Middle Tennessee at home (Apr. 7-9). Up next another road series, this time traveling to Birmingham to face the UAB Blazers (Apr. 14-16). The Hilltoppers then return home for two straight weekends of home games with FAU coming to The Hill (Apr. 21-23) followed by Charlotte (Apr. 28-30). The month of May will feature the final three series the first being a road trip to FIU (May 5-7). WKU will then welcome Rice to The Nick (May 12-14) and follow that up the next weekend traveling to Dallas Baptist for the first ever meeting between the programs.  The 2023 Conference USA Tournament is scheduled to begin on May 24.

Kentucky-Gonzaga Announce Six-Year Series

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky men’s basketball program has agreed to a six-year series with Gonzaga, the programs announced on Thursday. The teams will play in each of the next six seasons beginning with their Nov. 20 matchup in Spokane, Washington, this season. The series entails two games played in Spokane, two played inside of Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center, and two neutral site contests. A full breakdown of the series:

2025 – Nashville

2026 – Rupp Arena

2027 – McCarthey Athletic Center

The teams enter the 2022 matchup having only met once before on the hardwood. Kentucky captured an 80-72 victory in 2002 at the Maui Invitational.

Cards Set to Continue Fall Season this Weekend Hosting Eastern Kentucky and Kentucky

LOUISVILLE – Ky. – The University of Louisville softball team is set to continue fall play this weekend Oct. 8-9 hosting games against Eastern Kentucky and Kentucky at Ulmer stadium. The Cards will play a doubleheader against the Colonels on Saturday with the first pitch set for 12 p.m. and the second game to follow. Sunday will feature a showdown against the in-state rival Wildcats at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
