>>Cardinals Lose Regular Season Finale

(Pittsburgh, PA)  — The Cardinals closed out the 2022 regular season with a 5-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.  St. Louis gave up four runs in the bottom of the fourth to blow and early 3-0 lead.  Tommy Edman had three hits and an RBI in the losing effort.  Matthew Liberatore was charged with his second loss after giving up five runs in five innings.  The Cardinals finished the regular season at the top of the NL Central with a 93-and-69 record.

>>Cubs Crush Reds in Season Finale

(Cincinnati, OH)  — David Bote homered and drove in five runs as the Cubs crushed the Reds 15-2 in Cincinnati.  Bote hit a three-run bomb in the second inning, while Franmil Reyes and Zach McKinstry also went deep.  Adbert Alzolay collected his second win in relief.  Chicago closed the season at third in the NL Central at 74-and-88.

>>Reds Saddled With 100th Loss Of Season In 15-2 To Cubs

(Cincinnati, OH)  — The Reds hit the one-hundred-loss mark after their 15-2 defeat to the Cubs in Cincinnati.  David Bote crushed a home run and drove in five runs while Franmil Reyes and Zach McKinstry also smashed home runs.  The Cubs finished the season with a 74-and-88 record.  Spencer Steer drove in a run for the Reds, who ended 62-and-100.  They lost one-hundred games for the first time since 1982.

Miami Marlins 12, Atlanta Braves 9  

>>Braves Drop Season Finale In Miami

(Miami, FL)  — The Braves are closing out the regular season with a loss in Miami.  Atlanta was topped 12-9 by the Marlins in its season finale.  Jesse Chavez was charged with the loss after allowing four runs over a third of an inning.  Marcell Ozuna slugged a three-run shot and Matt Olson went deep with a two-run slam for the Braves.  Atlanta ended the regular season atop the NL East with a record of 101-and-61 and is the second seed in the playoffs.

>>Cardinals to Host Phillies in Wild Card Round

(St. Louis, MO)  — The Cardinals are getting ready for their NL Wild Card series with the Philadelphia Phillies.  The Cardinals will host every game of the best-of-three set.  St. Louis won the NL Central with a 93-and-69 record, while the Phillies took the finale NL Wild Card spot with an 87-and-75 mark.  The Cardinals went 3-and-4 against Philadelphia during the regular season.  St. Louis hasn’t announced the starting pitcher for Game One.  The first game gets underway tomorrow at 1:07PM.
