2022 Big Blue Madness Tickets Sold Out

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Big Blue Madness campout was back for the first time in three years, and the Big Blue Nation wasted little time in snatching up all tickets for this season’s Big Blue Madness Presented by Kinetic by Windstream. UK fans claimed all available tickets on Sunday morning either via camping out or online, setting up for a sold-out and highly anticipated tipoff to the 2022-23 Kentucky men’s and women’s basketball seasons. The event will take place Oct. 14 in Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center at 7 p.m. For fans who were unable to claim tickets, SEC Network will televise the two-hour event live.

Kentucky Remains Undefeated with Road Win at JMU

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The No. 5 Kentucky men’s soccer team (7-0-2, 2-0-1 Sun Belt) earned its second Sun Belt Conference victory with a 3-1 defeat over James Madison University (3-6-2, 0-2-1 Sun Belt) at Sentara Park in Harrisonburg, Va. on Saturday.

Erin Lamb’s 16 Kills Thunders No. 18 Kentucky Past Alabama

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore outside hitter Erin Lamb hit .500 on the afternoon with 16 kills on 28 swings as No. 18 Kentucky beat Alabama in four sets, 3-1 (25-18, 25-18, 19-25, 25-13) inside Memorial Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Kentucky has now won three matches in a row, all inside of the Southeastern Conference. UK now stands at 8-5 on the year and 3-1 inside SEC play. Alabama falls to 6-10 in 2022 and has suffered four SEC losses.

No. 2 Louisville Takes Down No. 11 Georgia Tech

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Led by 16 kills from Claire Chaussee, the No. 2-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team defeated No. 11 Georgia Tech in four sets 22-25, 25-14, 24-21, and 25-21 on Sunday afternoon at the L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.  Louisville extends its unbeaten streak in the ACC play to 32 straight matches and moves its record to 13-1 overall and 4-0 in ACC play. Elena Scott tallies career high digs.

Cardinals Drop Tight Battle to #14 Pitt, 1-0

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The University of Louisville women’s soccer team (4-4-2, 1-3-0) kept one of the highest scoring teams in the country at bay for most of the night but ultimately fell to No. 14 Pitt (11-1-0, 4-0-0), 1-0, Saturday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field. The Cards kept the Panthers off the scoreboard until the 79th minute as Pitt scored the lone goal of the match.

WKU and Middle Tennessee End in 1-1 Draw

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Sunday evening’s match between WKU Soccer (4-5-3, 1-2-1 C-USA) and Middle Tennessee (2-6-2, 0-2-1 C-USA) ended in a 1-1 draw in Murfreesboro. The Lady Toppers found the back of the net first, scoring in the 36th minute of the match. The Blue Raiders evened the score just moments into the second half, scoring in the 47th minute.

Double-Digit Aces Marks 11th Sweep of the Season over Charlotte

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The No. 25 Hilltopper Volleyball team hosted Charlotte Sunday afternoon in what turned out to be a quick 3-0 sweep of the 49ers, the fourth consecutive for WKU. Aces were on par for the victory, as the Tops recorded 11 – just one shy of the season high set back in the first match of the season. Six of the 11 aces came in the second set alone. This was the Hilltoppers’ 16th straight win over Charlotte, a streak that predates Travis Hudson’s tenure and dates back to October 2nd, 1987.

Racers and Flames Draw in Sunday Afternoon Clash

After taking their first Missouri Valley Conference win on Thursday Murray State women’s soccer battled to a 1-1 draw against Illinois Chicago on Sunday at Cutchin Field. Seniors Lauren Payne and Saraya Young highlighted the day for MSU with a goal and an assist, respectively.

Second-half scoring not enough against Colonels on Senior Day

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Despite second-half goals by Alec Baumgardt and Annabel Anderson, Austin Peay State University soccer was unable to overcome an early three-goal deficit and dropped a 3-2 ASUN Conference decision against Eastern Kentucky, Sunday, on Senior Day at Morgan Bros. Soccer Field.

North Florida upsets Govs in four sets

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – North Florida upset Austin Peay State University, Saturday, in four sets by scores of 20-25, 25-22, 25-16, and 25-18, snapping the Governors’ 15-match win streak inside the Winfield Dunn Center. The Governors dropped to 4-1 at home this season and 5-2 in their last seven matches. The Ospreys snapped a two-match losing streak.

(University, MS)  — The Wildcats and Cardinals suffered road losses over the weekend while the Tigers earned a home victory.  Kentucky dropped to 4-and-1 after losing to Ole Miss 22-19.  The Rebels are now 5-and-0 on the season and are the ninth-ranked team in the country according to the latest Coaches Poll.  The Wildcats fell to 13th in the rankings.  Louisville lost to Boston College 34-33 after giving up a late field goal.  The Cardinals are now 2-and-3.  Memphis improved to 4-and-1 after dispatching Temple 24-3.
