Western Kentucky could see its first frost of the fall season this weekend and there’s no apparent hope for rain in the forecast in the next few days.
Sean Poulos with the National Weather Service in Paducah said during this week’s conference call that frost will be most likely Saturday night when low temperatures will be in the 30’s across the region.
Parts of Western Kentucky are entering an official drought status and the conditions are likely to worsen this week, as Poulos says the next chance of rain isn’t until the middle of next week.
There’s also an elevated wildfire danger for most of this week with those dry conditions.
High temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70’s until rising into the mid-80s Thursday and then only in the 60’s Friday and Saturday. The long-range outlook shows next week having about normal temperatures and less than average precipitation.
