(Philadelphia, PA)  — Ronald Acuna Jr. and Michael Harris the Second drove in runs in the 11th inning as the Braves topped the Phillies 8-7 in Philadelphia.  Dansby Swanson homered for Atlanta.  Jackson Stephens earned the win.  The Braves improved to 95-and-58.  Atlanta is a game-and-a-half back of the Mets for first in the N.L. East.

Chicago Cubs 8, Pittsburgh Pirates 3

(Pittsburgh, PA)  — Patrick Wisdom homered as the Cubs took down the Pirates 8-3 in Pittsburgh.  Adrian Sampson allowed just one run over six innings for Chicago, and he picked up his third win.  Brandon Hughes picked up the save for the Cubs, who are 67-and-86.  Marcus Stroman starts for Chicago against the Phillies tomorrow night.

Cincinnati Reds 2, Milwaukee Brewers 1

>>Reds Avoid Sweep From Brewers After 2-1 Victory

(Cincinnati, OH)  — The Reds avoided a series sweep at the hands of the Brewers after their 2-1 victory in Cincinnati.  The game was tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the eighth until Spencer Steer crushed a solo homer to give Cincy the lead.  Alexis Diaz came in the following inning and earned the save.  Austin Romine also drove in a run for the Reds, who took one-of-four in the series.  The team will look to bounce back tonight as they hit the road to take on the Pirates in the first of three games.

>>Cardinals Fall To Dodgers

(Los Angeles, CA)  — The St. Louis Cardinals weren’t able to muster much offense in a 4-1 loss to the Dodgers in Los Angeles.  Yadier Molina drove in the Cardinals only run, and Adam Wainwright was charged with his 11th loss after giving up four runs in three innings.  The Cardinals fall to 89-and-65, but they still lead the NL Central by six-and-a-half games over Milwaukee.  The Cardinals visit the Brewers tomorrow night.

>>Pujols Joins 700 Club

(Los Angeles, CA)  — Albert Pujols made history on Friday night.  The Cardinals slugger launched his 700th career home run, becoming just the fourth MLB player to reach the milestone.  Pujols hit the home run off of Dodgers pitcher Phil Bickford, and it was his second long ball of Friday’s game against Los Angeles.  Pujols has been in the MLB since 2001, and he’s hit 466 of his home runs as a member of the Cardinals.
