United Way kicks off fundraising campaign

With a theme of ‘Planting Seeds of Hope’, the United Way of the Pennyrile has already nearly reached a third of its goal as it officially kicked off its annual fundraising campaign at a breakfast Thursday morning.

Whitney Stewart and Lucas Stagner are this year’s campaign co-chairs and Stagner announced the early tally at just over $209,000, with a goal of $730,000.

The various campaign cabinets gave reports on their progress, with the City of Hopkinsville already giving $50,000, Planters Bank contributing $35,000, HWEA $37,500, Pennyrile Electric $24,600 and donors to the Latham Society totaling $81,000.

Stagner encouraged everyone to consider donating and all of the money goes to support the 19 partner agencies that serve residents in Christian, Todd, Trigg and Caldwell counties.
