>>Kentucky Cracks Top 10 After 31-0 Victory Over Youngstown

(Lexington, KY)  — Kentucky is cracking the top 10 best teams in college football after their 31-0 win over Youngstown State.  Quarterback Will Levis threw for 377 yards along with two touchdowns and two interceptions while Dane Key caught six passes for 90 yards and a T-D.  The Wildcats defense held the Penguins to less than 200 yards of total offense. Cats shut out their first opponent since blanking Miami (Ohio) 42-0 on Sept. 5, 2009.

 

>>Vols, Tigers, Commodores Win, Cardinals Lose In C-F-B Action

(Knoxville, TN)  — The Vols, Tigers and Commodores are all celebrating college football wins over the weekend while the Cardinals lost their game.  Tennessee dismantled Akron 63-6 to stay undefeated at 3-and-oh on the season.  The Vols climbed in the A-F-C-A Coaches Poll and are now ranked 12th in the nation.  Memphis took down Arkansas State 44-32 and improved to 2-and-1 while Vanderbilt is 3-and-1 after dispatching Northern Illinois 38-28.  Louisville lost a close game to Florida State 35-31 and fall to 1-and-2 on the year.

 

Hilltoppers Drop Overtime Heartbreaker to Hoosiers

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Despite leading for nearly the whole game, WKU could not hold on in the closing minutes as Indiana went on to win, 33-30, in overtime Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. The setback dropped the Hilltoppers to 2-1 on the season while Indiana improved to a perfect 3-0.

 

Govs’ defense bullies the Bulldogs for third-straight win

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Austin Peay State University’s defense came up big again, scoring a touchdown on a fumble return and intercepting two passes in a 28-3 nonconference victory against Alabama A&M, Saturday, at Louis Crews Stadium. On a day when the Governors’ offense was battling to find its rhythm, the defense held down the fort. Highlighted by Antoine Williams’ 60-yard fumble recovery for a game-sealing score, the Governors’ defense rolled up 12 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions, and a fumble while holding Alabama A&M without a touchdown and 283 offensive yards.
