Unemployment was up slightly in Kentucky from July to August.
The August rate was 3.8 percent, up a tenth of a point from July, but down a full percentage point from the 4.8 percent recorded for the state one year ago.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for August was 3.7 percent, which was up two tenths of a point from July, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
