A pedestrian was critically injured in a hit and run collision early Friday morning on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in Clarksville.
An officer stopped to assist a motorist who was stopped in the middle of the roadway with their hazard lights on about 3:20 a.m. and that motorist notified the officer there was a pedestrian in the road, according to a news release.
The man was unconscious and breathing with wounds to the back of his head and he was flown to a hospital in Nashville, where his condition was unknown. His name has not been released.
Clarksville police say the northbound lanes of Wilma are closed at South Hampton Place and North Edgewood Place and will remain closed until the scene is fully processed, with traffic being diverted through the lot of the Governor’s Square Mall.
