UK Topples Wright State

LEXINGTON, Ky. – In a Thursday night matchup which pitted Kentucky women’s soccer head coach Troy Fabiano against a familiar foe, the Wildcats scored a 4-1 win over Wright State at the Wendell and Vickie Bell Soccer Complex. The result brings the Cats to 6-1-0 on the 2022 season, continuing the program’s best start since 2015.

 

Cardinals and Hoosiers Finish with 0-0 Draw

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women’s soccer team (3-1-2) returned home for the first time in two weeks and ended up with a 0-0 draw against Indiana (1-0-4) Thursday night at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium. It was the second-straight game the Cardinals have not allowed a goal and the fourth time this season they have kept their opponent off the score sheet.

 

Hudson Marks 700 Career Win, Beats Norse 3-2

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Number 21 WKU Volleyball opened the 2022 Holiday Inn University Plaza Invitational with a five-set win over the Northern Kentucky Norse. Callie Bauer led the way for the Hilltoppers picking up the first triple-double by a Hilltopper since 2009. She stuffed the stat sheet notching 10 kills, 39 assists, and 10 digs. Head Coach Travis Hudson also reached a milestone in match eight of the season, gaining win number 700 of his career in tonight’s matchup. He is one of 10 active coaches to meet the mark, and is one of just four to record them all at the same institution.

 

WKU Soccer Falls 2-1 in Battle at #9 Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. — WKU Soccer (2-3-2) put up a fight against No. 9 Ole Miss on the road Thursday night, but fell short 2-1 to the Rebels (6-0-1). “I’m really proud of our team,” said head coach Jason Neidell. “We battled back from a goal deficit to equalize, and then just had to absorb too much pressure down the stretch from a big, athletic, strong SEC team. We’ll need to have a short memory and get ready for a really good Arkansas State side on Sunday. These games will continue to prepare us for a tough conference race ahead.

 

Racers Soccer Not Enough for IUPUI

Led by five saves from Jenna Villacres, Murray State (0-5-1) fell to IUPUI 2-0 on Thursday night in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Jaguars would net a goal in each half to pull ahead of the Racers on the night.
