(St. Louis, MO)  — Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina made history as the Cardinals lost to the Nationals 11-6 at Busch Stadium.  The pair started their 324th game together as battery-mates, tying the record set by former Tigers players Mickey Lolich and Bill Freehan nearly a half-century ago.  Molina hit two home runs in the losing effort, while Adam Wainwright got a no-decision after giving up four runs in five innings.  Andre Pallante was charged with his fifth loss in relief as the Cardinals fell to 81-and-57.  They’re eight games ahead of the Brewers in the NL Central, and they send Miles Mikolas to the mound in Pittsburgh tonight.  In other team news, Paul Goldschmidt was named as the Cardinals nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award yesterday.

>>Reds Beat Cubs After Late Rally

(Chicago, IL)  — The Reds offense surged late to beat the Cubs 4-3 in Chicago.  Cincy trailed 3-2 heading into the ninth inning until Alejo Lopez smashed a triple to drive home the game-tying run.  Jonathan India stepped up to the plate and singled-home Lopez to give the Reds a 4-3 advantage.  Ian Gibaut came in the bottom half and shut down the Cubs to earn the save.  The Reds take two-of-three games in the series and will look to keep the momentum going tonight as they take on the Brewers in Milwaukee.

Cubs Falter Late
