Resolution possible in Fairview felony assault case

There could soon be a resolution in the cases of two men accused in connection with a felony assault that happened June 16 in Fairview.

Arraignment was held Wednesday morning for 44-year old Eddie Mosley of Hopkinsville, with his attorney entering a not guilty plea and asking for another court date.

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jerad Smith says he will be extending a plea offer to Mosley and co-defendant 47-year old Stacy Botts of Elkton soon and believes a resolution is possible as soon as next week.

Botts and Moseley allegedly went to the home of Botts’ ex-wife’s boyfriend in Fairview and attacked him with a metal pipe and bat, causing serious physical injuries that sent the victim to the hospital.

Both men are charged with first-degree assault and Mosley is facing additional charges in Todd County for a pursuit in July that ended with deputies arresting him in a field on KY 171.
