Man served with indictment warrant connected to alleged home invasion

A Christian County Grand Jury indictment warrant for robbery was served Wednesday morning against a Hopkinsville man accused of being involved in a May 10 robbery on Younglove Street.

The indictment against 22-year old Shartavious Burse of Hopkinsville is for complicity to first-degree robbery, tampering with evidence and driving on a DUI suspended license.

Hopkinsville police investigated the incident that happened about 9 p.m. May 10 in the 900 block of Younglove and the victim told officers that armed suspects had forced their way inside a home and demanded money.

Police located a vehicle matching the description given by witnesses in the area of East 1st and Campbell Street and it was driven by Burse.

The police report says a computer check showed he had a suspended license and passenger, 24-year old Davontra Burse of Hopkinsville, is a convicted felon.

Two guns were allegedly tossed out of the vehicle and discovered in a nearby yard and both suspects were charged with tampering with evidence.

Davontra was also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and he has not yet been charged in connection with the robbery.
