The Human Rights Commission is inviting the community to attend the 2022 Unity Breakfast coming up in October, and they are still accepting nominations for awards.
According to a news release, the breakfast is set for Thursday, October 27 starting at 7:30 a.m. at the James E. Bruce Convention Center. The Unity Breakfast is held in October of each year in conjunction with the annual Human Rights Week. The theme of this year’s breakfast is Light Up the World With Kindness, with Lt. Lindsey Galabeas as keynote speaker.
Tickets are $20 for individuals if purchased in advance, and $30 at the door the day of.
The Human Rights Commission is accepting nominations for recipients of the Hal and Bettye Thurmond Award, the Mayor’s Unity Award, the Judge’s Unity Award, Standard Award for Excellence and Volunteer of the Year Award until September 23.
