After the first “superload” successfully winded its way from Eddyville to Hopkinsville at a slow pace Wednesday, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says motorists can expect additional loads to take the same route along I-24 and US 68 about every other day over the next two weeks.
The loads will travel KY 93 southbound to the KY 293 Princeton-Eddyville Exit 45 Interchange, then head east on I-24. Once it enters I-24, the loadS will move at about 40 miles per hour with a police escort and support vehicles.
The specialized hauler has five more loads for delivery in the Hopkinsville area.
Motorists should be alert for this slow-moving load and use appropriate caution. Patience will be required, particularly where the hauler is making turns. Motorists who encounter this superload should pay close attention to directions from police escorting the load.
