Updated: Two flown to Skyline after I-24 accident

Additional information has been released on an accident in the I-24 construction zone early Saturday morning that sent two people to a Nashville hospital.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year old Nicholas Lack of Fort Campbell had been westbound off the travel portion of the highway near the 86 mile-marker when he struck a pickup parked in the emergency lane that was being used to clean up as workers were about to leave.

The collision ejected 53-year old John Bright of Benton from the back of the pickup and Lack had to be extricated from his car.

Both were flown from the scene to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville with serious injuries.

Alcohol involvement is listed among factors in the incident on the police report.
