Ky. gains 14,409 COVID cases, 76 deaths

The COVID-19 positivity rate in Kentucky stayed fairly level compared to last week, as 14,409 new cases were reported.

Those new cases put the overall total of cases reported in the Commonwealth since the pandemic began at roughly 1.5 million—there were 76 newly reported deaths, bring the death toll to 16,540. The positivity rate is at 18.51 percent, up only slightly from 18.41 percent the week before.

There are currently 615 people in the hospital with COVID-19, 74 in the ICU and 27 on a ventilator.  Christian and Todd counties are ‘yellow’ on the state community spread level map, along with Caldwell, while Trigg, Hopkins and surrounding counties remain ‘red’.
