(Birmingham, AL) — SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey is willing to consider an expansion of the NCAA Basketball Tournaments. Sankey tells Sports Illustrated he’s not backing the idea yet, but wants to take a “fresh look” at letting more teams into March Madness. He used Texas A&M as an example, saying the Aggies should’ve been in last season’s men’s tournament instead of the NIT. Sankey didn’t mention taking out automatic bids, but mentioned broadening “our thinking” regarding the men and women’s tournaments to make them better.
