A Fort Campbell solider was killed in a shooting early Saturday morning near Olmstead in Logan County.
Kentucky State Police say it happened just before 3:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Kenny Stratton Road and the victim has been identified as 20-year old Joshua Burks of Clarksville.
The shooter fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Logan County Coroner Mary Givens confirmed Burks was a soldier assigned to Fort Campbell.
The shooting happened at a gathering on Kenny Stratton Road and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to the scene and requested for KSP to investigate.
Burks’ body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for autopsy, according to Givens.
