Todd Fiscal Court approves budget amendments for gas line, road projects

Todd Fiscal Court passed a pair of budget amendments Friday morning related to funds received for a proposed natural gas pipeline and for widening of Old Railroad Lane near Novelis.

Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield says the amendment was necessary to accept the first $15 million in the state budget that will be used for initial design work on the Pennyrile Regional Energy Agency pipeline that’s proposed to go from north of Cadiz along I-24 to Oak Grove and Fort Campbell and then eastward to Pembroke, Trenton and Guthrie.

All communities along the proposed route would be able to tap into the pipeline. The natural gas agency began as an inter-local agreement between the cities of Trenton and Guthrie.

Meanwhile, funds received for turn lanes and other improvements of Old Railroad Lane at the Novelis entrances came in a little bit more than anticipated.

Both amendments were approved unanimously.
