Elkton man arraigned for felony assault charge

The Elkton man charged with felony assault for an alleged attack on the boyfriend of his ex-wife in Fairview appeared for arraignment Wednesday morning in Christian Circuit Court.

Public Defender Doug Moore entered a not guilty plea on behalf of 47-year old Stacy Botts of Elkton to one count of first-degree assault.

Botts allegedly assaulted the man with a metal pipe and his co-defendant, 44-year old Eddie Mosley of Hopkinsville, is accused of hitting the victim with a baseball bat during the confrontation. Moseley was arrested last month in Todd County.

The victim of the assault had to receive staples to his head and his ear was split and had to be sewn back together.

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jerad Smith agreed to Botts being released from jail, so long as he complies with several requirements, including not making contact with the victim and wearing an ankle monitor.

Another pre-trial conference was scheduled for September 14.
