(Undated) — The Crimson Tide are leading the way in the preseason AFCA coaches poll. Alabama opens the season as the number one team in the nation after receiving 54 of 66 first place votes. This is the seventh time in 13 years the Tide enter the season as the top ranked team. Ohio State received five first place votes and is second. Reigning national champion Georgia received six first place votes and is ranked third. Clemson and Notre Dame round out the rest of the top five.
