U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Bowling Green says his office is looking to help with the response to the devastating flooding in eastern Kentucky and he doesn’t know yet if he’ll attend the Fancy Farm picnic Saturday in Graves County.
Like everyone else, Senator Paul says his immediate focus was on the rescue effort.
He says his office has been working with FEMA and folks on the ground to be sure victims of the flood receive the assistance they need.
Meanwhile, the Fancy Farm picnic is the traditional kickoff to the political season in Kentucky and Senator Paul says whether he’s there or not will depend on how things go with pending legislation in Washington, D.C.
The political speeches Saturday afternoon will air live on Kentucky Educational Television.
