NFL Training Camp Update 7/29/2022

>>Titans Training Camp Notes From Day Two

(Nashville, TN)  —  Titans training camp is progressing as players continue practice at Saint Thomas Sports Park.  W-W-E legend Ric Flair joined the team yesterday and met with coaches and players.  Meanwhile, practice was light and consisted of individual drills along with a walk-through period.  Treylon Burks continues to progress and was seen fielding punts with the special teams unit.  Practice resumes today and the first padded practice is scheduled for Monday.

>>Tennessee Adds Wide Receiver

(Nashville, TN)  —  The Titans are adding and releasing a wide receiver as training camp ramps up.  Terry Godwin has agreed to join the team while receiver Juwan Green was waived yesterday.  The former Georgia Bulldog recently spent time with the Jaguars in 2020 where he caught three passes for 32 yards.  Godwin was also used as a kick returner in Jacksonville.

>>Report: Seahawks Extend DK Metcalf

(Renton, WA)  —  DK Metcalf will be sticking in Seattle for the foreseeable future.  According to ESPN, the wide receiver and the Seahawks have agreed to a three-year, 72-million dollar extension.  The deal includes 58.2-million dollars guaranteed, and a 30-million dollar signing bonus, which is the highest ever for a receiver.  The 64th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft has caught 216 passes for 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns over his first three seasons.

>>Cardinals Remove Study Clause In Murray Contract

(Glendale, AZ)  —  The Arizona Cardinals are removing the study clause in Kyler Murray’s contract after “seeing the distraction it created.”  The team announced Thursday the clause was perceived in ways they never intended and their confidence in Murray has never been higher.  Murray called an impromptu press conference on Thursday to discuss the criticism he’s received, calling it “disrespectful.”

>>Dan Snyder Testifies For Over 10 Hours

(Undated)  —  Commanders owner Dan Snyder was deposed on Thursday by the House Oversight Committee investigating the team’s workplace environment.  A spokesperson for Snyder said in a statement that despite the investigation’s conclusion last month, Snyder fully addressed all questions about workplace misconduct.  The hearing lasted a little over 10 hours and Snyder did not decline to answer any questions.  The deposition was private, but the committee has the discretion to decide if and when any of the information obtained during a deposition is released publicly.

>>Buccaneers Center Carted Off With Injury

(Tampa, FL)  —  The Buccaneers could be without a key piece to their offensive line.  Center Ryan Jensen was carted off the practice field on Thursday after suffering a left knee injury.  According to NFL Network, the injury is believed to be serious.  The hope is to have a definitive diagnosis on Jensen’s injury in the next few days.  Jensen signed a three-year, 39-million dollar extension with the Buccaneers hours after Tom Brady came out of retirement in March.

>>Report: Kwon Alexander Signs With Jets

(Undated)  —  The Jets are adding a veteran linebacker to their defensive unit.  ESPN reports New York is signing Kwon Alexander to a one-year deal.  Alexander joins the Jets after spending last season with the New Orleans Saints.  The 27-year-old had 50 tackles, three-and-a-half sacks and an interception through 12 games.  The linebacker reunites with his former defensive coordinator, Robert Saleh [[ saa-luh ]], who is now the head coach of the Jets.
