Sports Update 7/26/2022

>>Titans Begin Practice Tomorrow

(Nashville, TN)  —  The Titans are preparing for the first day of training camp tomorrow.  Veterans are reporting to the team facility today and will join rookies who have already been practicing.  The offensive line could see several positional battles taking shape as the summer progresses.  The top story continues to be the conditioning of rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks.

>>NFL Training Camp Gets Underway

(Undated)  —  Training camp gets underway across the NFL for most teams today.  While rookies have arrived for plenty of franchises, the real deal begins as veterans report to camp. It’s going to be a new look in plenty of cities across the country, as Russell Wilson gets ready to take snaps under center for the Broncos and Baker Mayfield takes the field for Carolina.  Teams will begin with 90-man rosters until mandatory cuts.  The first preseason game is the Hall of Fame Game between the Jaguars and Raiders in Canton, Ohio on August 4th.

>>Kyler Murray Extension Requires Independent Study

(Phoenix, AZ)  —  Kyler Murray is going to have to put in the work in the classroom if he wants to fulfill his contract.  The Cardinals quarterback officially signed his 230-million-dollar contract extension, which includes an independent study clause.  According to the “Independent Study Addendum between Arizona Cardinals and Kyler Murray,” the player shall complete at least four hours of independent study each week during each playing season during the term of the contract.

>>Chicago Mayor Pitches Soldier Field Renovation Plans To Bears

(Lake Forest, IL)  —  The Bears could be playing games under a dome in the near future.  Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot has released three possible plans to renovate Soldier Field, the home of the Bears.  Lightfoot has proposed renovating Soldier Field by making it a dome, which could cost anywhere from 900-million to 2.2 billion dollars.  The plans would have columns added to both end zones to support a new enclosed dome.  The project would add over eight-thousand seats to the renovated stadium.

>>Five-Star Prospect Commits To Kentucky

(Lexington, KY)  —  A five-star basketball prospect is committing to Kentucky.  Justin Edwards announced yesterday he’s joining the Wildcats for the 2023 season.  The six-foot-seven small forward is ranked number 13 in E-S-P-N’s top 100 and joins guard Robert Dillingham as the second five-star prospect Kentucky has recruited for next season.
