On Monday, July 18th, the Ohio Valley League announced the 2022 Cubb Stokes Offensive Player of the Year award recipient, Ryan Callahan of the Fulton Railroaders. Coaches around the league voted for the award. There were many worthy candidates for the Offensive Player of the Year award around the league.
Callahan has proven himself to be named for the award. He is currently leading the Railroaders and the league with a batting average of 0.419 (holds the Railroaders’ regular season individual record). Callahan also has batted in 37 runs (second in the league), hit 12 home runs (leads the league, holds the Railroaders’ regular season individual record), and has been credited a 0.892 slugging percentage which leads the league and holds the Railroaders’ regular season individual record in slugging percentage.
Also on Monday, July 18th, the Ohio Valley League announced the 2022 Gordon Guess Pitcher of the Year award recipient, CJ Lofton of the Fulton Railroaders. Coaches around the league voted for the award. There were many worthy candidates for the Pitcher of the Year award around the league.
Lofton has a strong resume for the second-ever Gordon Guess Pitcher of the Year Award. He currently leads the league and holds the Fulton Railroaders’ regular season individual record in strikeouts with 67 (12.39 strikeouts per game). Also, a ruling the league and is tied with the team record, he has recorded 5 wins.
