Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch appeared on WHOP Monday morning and gave an update on several topics in the city.
City Council will meet for the final time in July Tuesday night and the mayor says he expects to hear a positive end-of-year financial report from Robert Martin.
There has been excitement regarding Rural King opening a store in the old Bradford Square Mall and Mayor Lynch says the plan is still for Rural King to be operational at some point next year.
He says the latest group of city diplomats have begun meeting and it’s the largest class since the inception of the program before the pandemic.
The mayor encourages anyone interested in participating in the city diplomat program to apply on the City of Hopkinsville website.
